Nat King Cole: Unforgettable (1951)

61 years ago today, on February 15th, 1965, a day after Valentine's Day, the world lost one of the greatest legends in the history of show business. One of the greatest voices in the world of music. The one and only Nat King Cole. As we end this week of love and to keep celebrating black heritage month, I want to pay tribute to him by remembering and listening to his songs that were recognized and most popular, like my favorite of all, "Unforgettable" back in 1951.

It's a classic ballad that has stood the test of time, enchanting listeners with its smooth melody and heartfelt lyrics. The song speaks to the deep and enduring impact that a loved one can have on an individual's life. The lyrics convey a sense of awe and appreciation for the person who is deemed 'unforgettable,' emphasizing the unique and indelible mark they leave on the singer's heart. The repetition of the word 'unforgettable' throughout the song serves to reinforce the strength and permanence of the emotions involved.

The song also touches on the theme of mutual admiration and love. It's not just that the singer finds the other person unforgettable, but there's a reciprocal feeling-both parties in the relationship see each other as equally memorable and significant. This mutual recognition adds a layer of depth to the song, suggesting a balanced and profound connection between two people.

Culturally, 'Unforgettable' has become synonymous with timeless love and has been used in countless romantic settings, from weddings to anniversaries. Nat King Cole's smooth voice and the lush orchestration have made the song a staple for those wanting to express a love that transcends the ordinary. It encapsulates the idea that true love is not just a fleeting emotion but an everlasting imprint on one's life and soul.

His talent, his legacy, his music, and his spirit are still living 61 years later
for many generations in the world to enjoy.
There are a lot of people who have their own voice and talent to shine, and he was and is one of them.
That's why Nat King Cole is and always will be....Unforgettable.
